Overactive Bladder Medications
Ditropan (Ditropan XL, oxybutynin):
- Dry mouth
- Constipation
- Less commonly diarrhea
- Retention of urine
- Flushing of the skin or "overheating"
- Fast heartbeat
- Skin rash
- Sleepiness
- Mood changes
Detrol (Detrol LA):
- Constipation or diarrhea
- Dry mouth
- Retention of urine
Commonly Used Antibiotics
Amoxicillin (amoxil):
- Diarrhea
- Hives
- Nausea/vomiting
- Thrush/yeast infections
Pen VK (Penicillin V Potassium):
- Diarrhea
- Hives or other type of allergic rash
- Nausea/vomiting
Septra (trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole, Sulfatrim, Bactrim):
- Nausea/vomiting
- Skin rash
- Sensitivity to the sun
- Neutropenia (low white blood cell count) (with long term use)
Macrodantin (furadantin, nitrofurantoin):
- Lack or loss of appetite
- Nausea/vomiting
Keflex (cephalexin hydrochloride):
- Diarrhea
- Yeast infections/thrush
- Allergic rash
