- Use appropriate dose of acetaminophen (Tylenol) for pain control. Tylenol with Codeine may be prescribed.
- Do not use aspirin.
- Call for a persistent fever.
- Your child may have food and drink as tolerated.
- Your child may have burning, stinging, blood in the urine for the first 48 hours after the procedure.
- It is okay for your child to sit in the bathtub to urinate to help with bladder pain.
- Your child may resume all activities the next day. It is okay for your child to return to school/daycare.
- Renal ultrasound will be done approximately 3-4 weeks after the procedure with a return visit to see the doctor and review of the results.
- Please have your child stay on antibiotics until next visit.
